Filters are the best thing in Gmail nobody uses. Fastest way: open an email like the kind you want to sort, click the three dots at the top > Filter messages like these (it pre-fills the sender). Then Create filter, and choose what happens: Skip the Inbox (Archive it), Apply a label like 'Receipts', Mark as read, or Star it. Tick 'Also apply to matching conversations' to sweep existing mail too. You can also build from scratch in Settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses.
The 'Skip the Inbox + apply a label' combo is the magic one. Newsletters land in a Newsletters label and never clutter the inbox, you read them when you feel like it. Huge for inbox anxiety.
Do the 'Filter messages like these' route from a real email rather than building from scratch, it fills in the sender for you and you're done in 20 seconds.
