These Terms govern your use of the Spanbox desktop application and the spanbox.co website. By downloading, installing, or using Spanbox, or by purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms.

Heads up: "Spanbox", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the team that builds and operates the Spanbox app and website. "You" refers to the person or organization using Spanbox. If you don't agree with these Terms, please don't use Spanbox.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing the website, or downloading, installing, or using the Spanbox app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you use Spanbox on behalf of an organization, you represent that you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. The service & your license

Spanbox is a desktop application that lets you connect and use third-party messaging and email services from a single window. Each connected service runs locally on your device.

Subject to these Terms and your plan, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Spanbox on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. You may not sublicense, resell, rent, or redistribute the app or your license key.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live) to use Spanbox. You are responsible for keeping any license key, and the device on which Spanbox runs, secure. You are responsible for all activity carried out through your installation.

4. Plans, billing & renewals

• Free, connect up to 3 services, for as long as you like, at no cost.
• Pro, unlocks unlimited services and the deeper features, billed monthly or yearly.
• Lifetime, a one-time payment for Pro features, including future updates, with no recurring billing. Offered as a limited launch package; availability and price may change or end at any time.
• Enterprise, custom plans for teams, under a separate order or agreement.

Prices are shown on our pricing page and may change; changes won't affect the current term you've already paid for. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand, and the then-current price for that plan applies on renewal. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record; applicable taxes may be added. You authorize recurring charges for subscription plans until you cancel.

5. Refunds & cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. Except where required by law or stated otherwise at the time of purchase, payments are non-refundable. Where our payment provider's policy or your local consumer law grants a refund or cooling-off right, that will be honored. For any refund question, contact contact@spanbox.co.

6. License keys & activation

Paid plans are delivered as a license key sent to your email, which you enter in the app to unlock Pro features. Keys are for your use only. We may deactivate keys that are shared, resold, charged back, or obtained fraudulently.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Spanbox for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent the law expressly permits;
• circumvent license checks, or copy, resell, or redistribute the app or keys;
• use Spanbox to send spam, malware, or to abuse, harass, or harm others;
• use it in a way that breaches the terms of any service you connect through it;
• interfere with or disrupt the integrity or security of the app, the website, or our providers.

8. Third-party services

Spanbox is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Slack, Google, Telegram, Discord, Meta, Microsoft, or any other service it can connect to. When you connect a service, your use of it is governed by that provider's own terms and policies, and you are responsible for complying with them. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or any changes they make that affect how Spanbox works with them.

9. Intellectual property

Spanbox, including the app, the website, the name, logo, and all related content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use Spanbox, they do not transfer any ownership. All trademarks of third parties belong to their respective owners.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data. In short, Spanbox is local-first: your messages and logins stay on your device and do not pass through our servers.

11. Early builds & "as is"

Spanbox may be provided as an early or pre-release build and, during this period, may not be code-signed; your operating system may warn you on first launch. The service and app are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Spanbox will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every third-party service at all times.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Spanbox. Our total liability for any claim relating to Spanbox will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of Spanbox, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You may stop using Spanbox at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, the license granted to you ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

15. Governing law & disputes

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights your local consumer law gives you. If a dispute arises, please contact us first at contact@spanbox.co so we can work in good faith to resolve it before any formal proceedings. We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use Spanbox after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
