Spanbox vs Texts

One inbox for your chats,
without a bridge in the middle.

Texts unifies your DMs by bridging each network through its own servers. Spanbox takes the local route: it runs the real web apps on your machine, so your chats go straight between you and each app. It also brings email, Slack and AI into the same inbox, not just DMs.

Why people choose Spanbox

🔒

Private by architecture

To merge your chats, Texts bridges them through its servers. Spanbox never bridges. It runs each app locally, so your conversations go straight between you and each service, with no relay to trust.

📥

More than DMs

Texts is built for direct messages. Spanbox brings your email, work tools like Slack, and your AI assistants into the same inbox as your DMs. One window for everything.

👑

Pay once, not every month

Texts is a subscription. Spanbox has a real free tier and a one-time Lifetime license, so privacy and a calm inbox do not come with a monthly bill.

Everything you get, in one place.

Spanbox is the calm home for every conversation you have online.

Questions

Spanbox and Texts, answered

Does Spanbox route my messages through its servers like Texts?

No. Spanbox runs the real apps on your own machine and reads them locally. It runs no servers that can see your messages. Texts bridges yours through its infrastructure to unify them, which is the opposite approach.

Can Spanbox do iMessage and SMS like Texts?

Not today. iMessage and SMS need a bridge to a closed protocol, which is exactly what Texts specializes in. Spanbox runs the web apps you already use, and those protocols do not offer one.

What can I add to Spanbox that Texts cannot do?

Email like Gmail and Outlook, work tools like Slack and Teams, and AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude, all in the same unified inbox as your chats, not just DMs.

Is Spanbox cheaper than Texts?

Spanbox has a free tier for 3 apps and a one-time $129 Lifetime license. Texts is a recurring subscription.

More about Texts

I need my chats on my phone too. Should I use Texts?

If a cross-network inbox on mobile, with iMessage and SMS, is your main need, Texts fits that job well. Spanbox is a private, desktop-first home for all of your apps, including email, work and AI.

Is it really private if the basics are free?

Yes, because there is nothing to monetize. With no server in the middle, your messages never reach us to scan, sell or leak. The free tier is a real product, not a trade for your data.
