Deactivated my Instagram months ago. If I come back, will my DMs and photos still be there?

Good news: deactivation has no expiry. Five months or five years, logging back in reactivates everything exactly as you left it, photos, followers, DMs, all intact. It never auto-converts to deletion. The only way an account gets deleted is if you explicitly request it. So log in whenever you're ready, it'll all be waiting.

Come on back, it'll be like you never left, for better or worse. Everything restores a minute or two after you log in.
