I need to share a folder of files with a few people. How do I share a whole Google Drive folder at once, and can I control whether they can just view or actually edit what's inside?

Right-click the folder in Google Drive and choose 'Share', or open it and hit the share icon. Add people by email and set each one's access: 'Viewer' (look and download only), 'Commenter', or 'Editor' (add, change, delete files). Everything inside the folder inherits that access automatically, so you share once, not file by file. For a wider audience use 'Anyone with the link' set to Viewer, so no Google account is needed, but remember a link can be forwarded. Keep sensitive folders on 'Restricted' (specific people only), and you can change or revoke access anytime from the same Share panel.
