Accidentally turned on vanish mode and now my messages keep disappearing. How do I turn it off?

I must have swiped up by accident and now everything I send in this one chat vanishes after we read it. It's driving me nuts because I keep losing links I send to myself. How do I switch vanish mode back off?

Easy fix: open that chat and swipe UP again from the bottom (the same gesture that turned it on toggles it off), or tap the 'Turn off vanish mode' bar at the top of the chat. New messages will stay put again after that. The already-vanished ones are gone, but going forward you're back to normal.

For links to yourself, make a tiny group chat with only you in it, or use saved messages. Vanish mode and notes-to-self are mortal enemies.
