How do I archive an Instagram post to hide it without deleting it for good?

Open the post, tap the three dots at the top-right and choose 'Archive'. It vanishes from your public profile grid immediately but stays saved privately, only you can see it. To view or restore: your profile > the menu (three lines) > 'Archive' at the top, then 'Show on profile' puts any post back exactly where it was, likes and comments intact. It's the perfect middle ground when you're unsure about deleting. Same works for Stories (that archive is separate), and it's totally private, followers get no notification when you archive or unarchive.

Archiving is fully reversible and private, with no notification to anyone. It's the safe move over deleting when you might want the post, and its likes and comments, back later.
