Which chat apps are genuinely end to end encrypted by default, not just optionally?

Half of them say encrypted but only in some special mode you have to turn on. Which ones are private out of the box?

By default, every chat: Signal, WhatsApp, and iMessage (blue bubbles only). Telegram is NOT end to end by default, only its Secret Chats are, regular cloud chats are not. Messenger finally made E2E the default recently but rollout has been patchy.
