I always hear conflicting things. If I screenshot someone's regular post, their profile pic, or a story, do they get told? Trying to figure out where the line is before I embarrass myself.

Does Instagram actually notify people when you screenshot their post or profile?

Current state of play: regular posts, profiles, reels and stories give NO screenshot notification. The one exception is disappearing view-once photos and videos sent in a DM, those do notify the sender if you screenshot. So screenshot your friend's meme freely, just be careful with the vanish-y DM stuff.

Screenshot away. The only thing that'll snitch on you is a disappearing DM pic. Everything else is fair game.
