How do I permanently delete my Spotify account? Can't find the option in the app.

I want my Spotify account gone. I've looked all through the app settings and there's no delete option. How do I actually delete a Spotify account, and do I lose my playlists?

You can't delete it in the app, that's why you can't find it. You have to do it through Spotify's website. Go to spotify.com, log in, and head to Support > 'Close your account' (or the account/privacy page). It sends a confirmation email, click that link to finalize. Warning: your playlists, followers and saved music are gone permanently. Spotify holds the account for 7 days where you can reactivate via support, but after that it's final. Cancel any Premium subscription first so you're not billed.

The 'only on the website, not the app' thing catches everyone. The app has no delete button on purpose. Do it from a browser on spotify.com.

Cancel Premium BEFORE you close the account, otherwise you can keep getting charged. And export your playlists first if you care, apps like Soundiiz back them up.
