How do I screen record on my iPhone? Can't find a record button anywhere.

I want to capture what's on my screen but there's no obvious record button in any app. How do I screen record on iPhone, and does it record sound too?

It's built in, just hidden. First add it: Settings > Control Center > tap the green + next to Screen Recording. Now swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center and tap the round record icon (a dot inside a circle). It gives a 3-second countdown, then records everything on screen. Tap the red status bar > Stop to finish, and the video saves to Photos. It captures app audio automatically, and if you long-press the record button you can turn on the Microphone to narrate too.

The 'add it to Control Center first' step is what everyone misses. It's not there by default. Once added, it's a two-tap job forever after.

Long-press (not tap) the record button to get the mic toggle. That's how you narrate over the recording. Without it you only get the app's own sound.

One gotcha: some apps like Netflix block screen recording and you'll just get a black screen with audio. That's DRM, nothing you can fix.
